How to cook Brownies in an air fryer

The Best Air Fryer Brownies

Cooking brownies in an air fryer can be a quick and efficient way to satisfy your sweet tooth. Here’s a simple recipe and method to make delicious brownies using an air fryer:

Ingredients needed:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Optional: chocolate chips, nuts, or other mix-ins

Instructions:

Prepare the Batter:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar. Mix until well combined.
  2. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Mix until just combined.
  5. Fold in any optional ingredients like chocolate chips or nuts if using.

Preheat the Air Fryer:

Preheat your air fryer to 160°C  (320f).

Line the Air Fryer Basket:

Line a round cake pan or a small baking dish that fits inside your air fryer basket with parchment paper. If you don’t have a pan that fits, you can use a silicone mold or create a foil sling for easy removal.

Pour the Batter:

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan or mould. Smooth the top with a spatula.

Cook the Brownies:

Place the pan in the air fryer basket.

Cook for about 10-15 minutes. The exact time can vary depending on your air fryer model and the thickness of your batter. Start checking at 10 minutes; the edges should be set, and a toothpick inserted into the centre should come out with a few moist crumbs, not wet batter.

Cooling:

Once done, carefully remove the pan from the air fryer. Let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes. This helps them set and makes them easier to cut.

Serve:

Once cooled slightly, lift the brownies out using the parchment paper or foil sling, if used. Cut into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.

Tips:

  • Baking Time: Keep an eye on the brownies as air fryers can vary in temperature accuracy. They might cook faster than expected.
  • Texture: If you prefer fudgier brownies, slightly underbake them. For cakier brownies, cook a bit longer but be careful not to overcook.
  • Size: The size of your pan or mold will affect cooking time. Smaller, thicker brownies will take longer.

Enjoy your homemade air fryer brownies! They’re perfect for a quick dessert or snack with a unique twist on traditional baking.
