I recently purchased the Ridgemonkey Vault C-Smart Wireless 42150mAh and took it with me for a 3-day session on the bank, and I have to say, it exceeded my expectations. I wanted something rugged, reliable, and capable of keeping my essentials topped up without the stress of running out of power — and this absolutely delivered.
Over the three days, I used it to charge my phone multiple times and also kept my mini iPad going, which I use quite a bit for reading and watching films in the bivvy. I also charged my bivvy light off it. When I got back home, it still had one light showing, which really impressed me. I didn’t feel like I had to ration my usage or constantly check the charge.
The build quality is solid and feels like it can take a few knocks without any worry, which is ideal for a fishing environment. The wireless charging feature was a nice bonus too — just tap it on, pop your phone on top and it’s away, no faffing with cables in the dark, however this takes double the time to charge in my instance.
All in all, I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a dependable power source for a few days off-grid. It’s not the cheapest bit of kit, but you definitely get what you pay for in terms of performance and reliability.
