Hoofs Carterton

If you’re in Carterton and looking for a proper café that does more than just your average coffee and sandwich, Hoofs at Marigold Square is absolutely worth a visit. I’ve been a few times now, and every time I leave full, happy, and usually carrying a cake or two home.

Warm Atmosphere and Friendly Staff

The team at Hoofs are always friendly and welcoming – it’s got that local, down-to-earth feel where people actually chat to you. It’s clean, cosy, and most of the time has outdoor seating, which is great when the weather plays along.

Amazing Food – Sausage Rolls, Scotch Eggs & Cakes!

Let’s get to the good stuff – the food. Honestly, the sausage rolls are better than Greggs, more should try these considering Greggs is pretty much across the road. They’re hot, flaky, and full of flavour.

But the homemade Scotch eggs? Absolutely amazing. You can taste the difference straight away – proper seasoned meat, crispy coating, and a soft egg centre. They’re easily my favourite item on the menu.

The cakes are always fresh and delicious too. Whether it’s a slice of Victoria sponge or a rich chocolate traybake, they’ve got a great selection and I’ve never had one I didn’t like.

Great for Kids (and Adults with a Sweet Tooth)

It’s also a fantastic place to take the kids. They’ve got a nice little sweet selection that’s perfect for a treat after school or on the weekend. My lot love popping in for sweets, and it’s become a bit of a family favourite.
